Residential Treatment

Residential Treatment Health Centers are fully licensed residential alcohol and drug rehabilitation programs that includes addiction counselling, education, therapies for the mind/body/spirit, exercise, nutrition, and off-site recreation.

These facility have a high staff to client ratio in an intimate setting which allows for individual drug counseling and an alcohol and drug rehab program tailored to your unique needs. Clients can stay with at these clinics an average of 42 days but can stay an additional 30 days as a participant in the Alumni Program.

Alcohol and drug detox allows for prompt admission without “clean time” from drugs or alcohol prior to admission.
Sunshine Coast Health Center is committed to providing mental health services in addition to addiction counseling. All clients are provided assessment services as well as access to our mental health team (psychiatrist, psychologist and psychiatric nurse) during their stay in our alcohol and drug rehab program.

Families and partners of clients in our drug rehab program are an important part of the treatment process. Families can take part in the Family & Couples Program held on-site every three weeks at no extra charge. Partners can address relationship issues in the couples program available on the fourth day of the family program.

Medication and behavioral therapy, alone or in combination, are aspects of an overall therapeutic process that often begins with detoxification, followed by treatment and relapse prevention. Easing withdrawal symptoms can be important in the initiation of treatment; preventing relapse is necessary for maintaining its effects. And sometimes, as with other chronic conditions, episodes of relapse may require a return to prior treatment components. A continuum of care that includes a customized treatment regimen, addressing all aspects of an individual’s life, including medical and mental health services, and followup options (e.g., community- or family-based recovery support systems) can be crucial to a person’s success in achieving and maintaining a drug-free lifestyle.
